T-Mobile intranet navigation
The e33 team restructured a 180,000-page intranet, delivering radical, measurable improvements in ease and efficiency of use
T-Mobile is one of the world’s top-three mobile providers and has about 67 million customers worldwide.
The client’s intranet included 200 sub-sites, many with their own navigational systems. Finding information had become increasingly difficult because of the often confusing and contradictory navigation and labelling.
The e33 team delivered a new DHTML-driven navigation system without the need for downtime. The new system delivers more information more efficiently, and is compatible with future search-engine redevelopments.
Results
Six weeks after launch, users were saving two minutes a day searching the intranet, giving projected savings of £280,000 over 12 months. Each site recorded about half the navigational moves, which emphasises the radical improvement in usability.
